Global shipments of computers will decline significantly due to corona (study)

The Corona virus crisis still exists and kills many lives daily in separate regions of the world and concentrated in the Chinese province of Hubei, the epidemic facility; and the impact of this deadly virus crippled the movement in large areas of the mainland to reflect its shadows on the economic movement and cause a shortfall in the supply of a large amount Among the companies with the main components and products for their production cycle, especially the technical companies.

In this context, the research and market research firm Canalys indicated that global shipments of computers are expected to decrease by at least 3.3% to 9% at the highest levels this year.

The study conducted by the company indicated the decline in computer shipments due to an outbreak of Corona virus by 10.1% to 20.6% during the first quarter of the year 2020, while the effects of the decline will remain visible until the second quarter with the expectation of a decline rate of 8.9% in the best cases until 23.4 at worst.

As for the number of units expected to be sold during the year, they may reach 382 million, or a decline of 3.4% from the previous year 2019, when the computer market achieved sales of 396 million devices _ this is in the best cases of anticipation.

In the worst of them, the number of shipments of global computers may reach 362 million, a decline of 8.5% from last year.

The company built its best and worst expectations in terms of the ability of the market and Chinese suppliers to control this decline during the third and fourth quarter of the year and the return of the Chinese supply and manufacturing chains to work with all its staff during that period.

According to the company’s expectations, the global computer market will return to activity again and achieve growth at the beginning of next year 2021 if things go according to the lowest levels of decline expected during the year.

But given the inability of suppliers and production chains to work at higher levels to meet the needs of manufacturers and the computer market by next June, then it may be difficult to return to offset the decline even in the fourth quarter of the year and the deficit rate increases.

As China is one of the largest computer manufacturers worldwide, the effects of the virus and the decline will be strong and evident in the Chinese market, with an annual decline that may reach 12% from last year 2019.

It is worth noting that the suffering from the Corona outbreak crisis in China included a lot of technical companies in various fields; manufacturers of smartphones, televisions, games units, home aid and even cars.

In the wake of this crisis, Foxconn announced last Tuesday, which is a major feeder for Apple, that its financial returns will witness a decline during the year due to the effects of the Corona outbreak, and said that its factories located in Muskie, India, and Vietnam are fully occupied and that it plans to expand in other regions of the world. .
