The lie that lived for extra than a decade

When I was studying at the university, exchanging funny bluetooth clips was a common issue among young people, and how hard it was to transfer these big clips that reach 1MB, it took a long time. As for the reasons for exchanging clips in that period, it is more like our situation with WhatsApp messages at the present time.

The lie that lived for extra than a decade

Much of what was exchanged was funny or tragic, but I remember one of the famous clips that spread among young people to marvel at him. In this small clip, someone decided to hide inside one of the large mailboxes, and every time someone tried to put messages inside the box, this person was throwing it out through the small hole, and people were surprised at first, then discovered the reason and laughed. But after a little laughter, a person who appears on the features of the galafah approaches the box and has some postal conditions in his hand, and puts it inside the box, and when this person throws it from the small hole, this person is surprised and looks through the hole a little, then he was surprised by that he removed a pistol from his side and emptied a few bullets in The box then puts the messages in the box and goes on its way, and we see at the time that the movement inside the box has stopped moving because the representative inside the box has died, then the screen prevails and a small picture appears of the actor who died as a result of this prank.

This passage became known as the "Russian hidden camera" and this name seemed convincing because it is in line with the perception that the Russians do not understand humor and tend to solve everything by fighting and violence.

I don’t remember how many times I was told how amazing I was in that passage. Didn't that person think that it was a joke? Why does he carry a pistol with him and wants to send mail? Where are the friends of the actor who were filming the clip? Why did they not intervene to stop this misfortune? All these questions were posed, and we were then trying to come up with some explanations, and we felt sad about the murdered actor and life went on.

Suddenly, without advances, as I drove my car on my way to work, Biya returned to the memories and remembered the horrific scene from college days, but instead of remembering and ignoring, I stopped to analyze the passage a little and explain what I saw logically. And I repeated the same previous questions, the pistol? Camera? Where are his friends?

When I got to my office, I decided to start searching for this clip, and at the same time I had to check whether it was real or not?

I opened Google and started to enter different words like “Russian hidden camera revolver” and a mixture of this and that (in English of course). After moving between the links, I found an article talking about this section, but it became clear to me that the section is a truncated part of an advertisement for a printing company in Argentina, It was produced in 2000, before entering university. But it appears that the copy that we received while we were students was modified, because the actual announcement shows the name of the company with a marketing sentence, instead of the image of the actor and the date of death.

I have been believing in this simple lie for more than a decade ...

Today, we live a thousand lies a day, we watch the videos on YouTube and Twitter, and many of them have arrived on WhatsApp, and because we do not have enough time to refute everything that we receive on a daily basis, we are trying to come up with a quick judgment, and you will be surprised by the amount of people who believe false clips.

But I recently noticed that awareness began to spread among people, and they had a "police" sense when the clips reached them, and how happier I see people who lie or deny the validity of some of the clips that are spread, and there are many accounts on Twitter that do this service, but unfortunately in many cases they rise The voice of the masses above the sound of logic.

If there is a skill we need to teach it to most of the internet users, it is "not to rush" and "understand the context", these things are important to avoid falling into the trap of lies and fake news because it depends on these two factors, many famous clips come fragmented, incomplete, and without any context It comes with a vague text describing what happens and do not know, do you believe these words or not?

The next time you receive a vague clip or image with your stubborn text, think a little bit. Is it possible to replace the attached text or description with another description and it will also be appropriate? If the answer is yes, try to search in Google for the news more before you store it in your memory, to discover after more than a decade that you have been a victim of a ridiculous lie, and some lies have been built upon convictions that cause tragedies, and God is the keeper
